Chitwan : A campaign has been launched under the banner ‘Atithi Dewa Bhawa:’ or ‘Guest is God’ to draw more tourists to Nepal.

The campaign has been launched in collaboration between Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and Non Resident Nepalese Association (NRNA) and various tourism related organizations.

NTB’s senior official, Suman Ghimire, said the campaign is part of an aim to draw tourists to Nepal by spreading concept of Nepal’s hospitality and culture towards its guests.

He added that for now a publicity campaign is being run. On Monday, ‘Namaste Campaign’ was launched at four different tourist destinations in the country. The Namaste Campaign has been launched in Sauraha, Kathmandu, Pokhara and Lumbini.

Regional Hotel Association Chitwan’s General Secretary, Rammani Khanal, said the campaign will contribute towards drawing tourists to Nepal and vowed Sauraha will offer the world the renowned Safari along with Nepali culture and traditional practices.

Namaste Campaign’s Programme Coordinator, Laxman Gautam, said the campaign aims to define Nepal’s nature, culture and adventure and bring into practice the culture embedded in the words ‘Atithi Dewa Bhawa:’.

Gautam further added that a calendar will be made for the publicity campaign in the world. The campaign also aims to impart a message that Nepal is now free from political and natural crisis.

As part of the international campaign, a single NRNA representative in every country will aim to send three tourists to Nepal. The NRNA has national coordination councils in 75 countries of the world.
